Heroes of Arkesia, In March, Smilegate RPG joined us in our Seattle studio to take a look at the content roadmap, improve operations & tools, and continue collaboration on all things related to the western release of Lost Ark. If you haven’t read it yet, be sure to read our letter to the community that details our approach to content coming after the March Update. For the purposes of the April & May roadmap, we’ll start off by reiterating a few things from that letter. We’re going to keep the near future focused on horizontal content and giving players clear paths for progression without feeling like they need to pay. We want to give more players time to reach the end-game before introducing Legion Raids (the definitive Lost Ark raiding experience), and ensure players are able to explore Arkesia and progress at their own pace without feeling pressured to race toward end-game content. Our March 24 update included new materials to help with honing chances that can be earned in two events (the Guardian Raid Event & the Arkesia Grand Prix), more ways for players to earn weekly honing materials, and a honing materials gift for all players. April will continue that trend, providing…

Heroes of Arkesia, After the changes introduced on March 24, we’re back with an update to top issues we’ve seen within the community. ROADMAP We are currently finalizing our roadmap plans for game content releasing in April and May. We know this isn’t the farthest look in the future with April arriving today, but we want to ensure we’re taking the time needed to analyze our plans while taking evolving player feedback and data into account wherever possible. We understand that players want this news as soon as they can get it and have been waiting a long time for this communication, but we want to prioritize quality and accuracy over speed of delivery. When the roadmap comes it will provide a sneak peek at the upcoming classes, raids, continents and other updates that we’re aiming to release in our April and May monthly content updates. It will not share every change or include every event, issue fix, or quality life improvement included in weekly updates throughout those months. It is possible that it may even change based on both data and feedback that we receive. HONING DIFFICULTIES In our recent team message from Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG, we…

Lost Ark Update to Top Issues – March 11

Staying transparent is important to us, and we want to share updates about the game and any issues we are working through with you as consistently as possible. As content arrives and updates are released into the game, you may see these Top Issue updates being published at different days through the week. While this post references several topics that have been ongoing, the team is also keeping a close eye out for any new issues that may spring up with our March update. We will provide those updates in a separate post if necessary. We appreciate the feedback and questions! Keep them coming on our official forums. Bot Bans Last Friday we began rolling out bot bans, targeting over a million illegitimate accounts. We know this will not fix the situation by itself and there are still bots present the game, so we want to provide reassurance that this was just one step in an ongoing battle. Following this initial massive ban wave, we are continuing to regularly roll out additional bans to clear out more bots from the game. Beyond that, we are also working on internal methods and tools to make it much more difficult for bots…

Square Enix donates $500,000 to the Ukraine relief effort

The money has been given to the UN refugee agency, which estimates that three million people have fled to neighbouring countries since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Square Enix has also launched an employee fundraiser and matching gift program to benefit three charities supporting the Ukraine relief effort: the Red Cross, UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders. “We sincerely hope that peace will be restored, and that those affected by the crisis will regain peaceful life as quickly as possible,” the Japanese company said on Tuesday. pic.twitter.com/C887TgcVpO — Square Enix (@SquareEnix) March 15, 2022
